FROM TO DESK OF THE COMMODORE
To all members of LYC
As the newly elected Commodore of the Lakefront Yacht Club I would
like to thank all the members for all their hard work and in making the
LYC successful throughout the year. The club has just had its 10th
anniversary. A lot of great changes have occurred in the past 10 years
and we’re sure there is more to come.
As Commodore I have four main goals for 2017. I believe working with
Lakefront Marine as a partner will help us to achieve our goals.
1. To continue building the LYC membership.
2. Adding more marine educational and boating safety classes into
the calendar for 2017.
3. To keep the club staffed throughout the year.
4. Always keep our members in mind when planning events and
For the past year we have had difficulty getting volunteers to help staff
the club. Looking back and analyzing the situation it appeared that the
main issue was being able to staff the bar. As far as other areas of
volunteering we seem to have had that covered i.e., setting up for an
event and taking down after an event. We are currently working on a
solution that would help alleviate the staffing concerns, information to

will sign up for 2017.
We are looking forward to a fantastic and exciting fun year. We wish all

Lakefront Yacht Club
