Lakefront Yacht Club
February 22, 2015
Hello again, Fellow boaters and Yacht Club Members
The Bridge and officers of Lakefront have posted a nearly completed calendar of events to the website and ask that all take a look and plan your summer activities accordingly. We have posted some cruise dates, and while we have not yet made commitments, be sure to give us additional thoughts of places to go. We will not be planning two events this year on cruise dates, and hope new faces will join. Our outings can be joined by boat, car or ferry. Our goal would be for more members to join us on cruise outings.
The Bridge will also be reaching out to other local clubs this year, and see if we can make our club and marina a destination to show off all that we have to offer. I am sending out invitations and promoting our club more aggressively through I-LYA (Inter-Lake Yachting Association) and hope to see new visitors join in our fun.
The clubhouse ceiling is nearly complete, and how nice, a clean white ceiling can look. There are new tables being constructed, and new light fixtures to be hung by our Immediate Past Commodore Wayne Martin. Wayne continues to showcase his talents by putting his efforts into the appearance of our club. Once again, we should all personally thank Wayne for his efforts.
Webmaster Jim Geyer has done a great job updating the website, along with many new additions. Jim should also be thanked personally, for his timeless efforts.
While checking out the website, you will find a tab called Bridge, and under the heading you will find a tab for Board Members. This is where we have posted committees to assist the club. If you want to help on a committee, or head up a committee please contact a member of the Bridge. The best way to grow is to include members, to expand our activities. Ask yourself “What can I do for the club?” and then act on it. This is YOUR club help make a difference.
Finally, the club will be hosting a St. Patty’s Day celebration on March 14 2015. Jim and Maria Geyer, along with their team of culinary experts, will feature a Corned Beef and Cabbage entrée, along with sides and homemade desserts. Mark your calendar and watch for details coming soon.
