Lakefront Yacht Club
1805 West Lakeshore Drive, Port Clinton, OH
Thanks to everyone who enjoyed their Memorial Day weekend at Lakefront Yacht Club. The
Night at the Races was again a success and fun for everyone who attended. Hope those who were
not here for this one can attend next year. On Monday we did a Memorial Service to remember
and honor our Service men and women. It was their sacrifices that allow us the freedoms we
have today and the true Spirit of the weekend.
The club has booked docks at Middle Bass Island for our first rendezvous of the season. New
this year is that while the Club can reserve docks each boater must call ahead to the office at
419-285-0311 and give them advanced registration information and a credit card to hold the
dock. We will provide a lunch meal once everyone has arrived at around one o’clock. We will
charge $5.00 per meal and Jon Lamb will be our chef. We would like each boat to bring a dish to
pass. The club will bring utensils and water. So far, we have 12 boats pledged. Come on and
enjoy the fun. Can’t get there by boat? Take the Jet Express to Put-In-Bay and the Sonny S to
Middle Bass and head over to the Marina and join us.
We are still looking for volunteers to help run your club. Dennis and Connie Emrich have
offered to chair the Hospitality Committee. They need help to staff the Club and get some steady
hours. Please see them or any Bridge Member and we will get you involved. We are also going
to try some breakfasts again. Seems like Sunday is the time most participation happens. We will
accept ideas if other times are preferred. Keep an eye on the web site for all the happenings.
Any fresh ideas? Let us know. We also have a Ship Store with some nautical shirts and a few
other articles. If you want something other than what we have on display, let us know. We can
get most orders in 5-10 days. The Ship store Committee would love to hear from you.
Today is the ODNR Safety Presentation. 30 students have filled the room to get additional
education for boating. For any born after 1982, this class is required. Great turn out for further
Hope you find ways to participate and enjoy your club. Bring new ideas and offer your time
and we can make magic here at Lakefront Yacht Club.
